Love the plaid shirt. One of my favorite pieces that will never lose its fashion value. Though it’s a little exposed to us because of D&G, plaid shirts will always be one of the best pieces for men.

do you actually tuck in the shirt??

    Dan,

Love the new website and as far as the people who don’t like the more frequent posts go, well find another blog would be my advice.

Don’t always love the style (thought the bucks were a bit played) but really appreciate the more frequent posts. Keep ‘em coming. Grazie.

i love the pull-over shirt you have on. i have been looking all over for one that won’t break my wallet. i see the blue + white plaid pattern everywhere these days too.

In regard to matching shoes and belt… I don’t think anyone should ever be caught with a white belt. Just sayin…

    • There are no “rules”. Never say never. I don’t love white belts either, but the other day I saw a younger Italian guy in the city wearing an awesome slim off-white suede belt.

      Thanks for reading

  • This shirt is great fabric and pattern wise. For some reason I have never been a big fan of cream or white bucks though. Something about them seems real old man-ish.

    • They’re actually not my favorite pair either, but I feel I have to rotate them in (I wear all my clothes…and don’t really understand why so many people wear less than 50% of their wardrobes..? Why have so much clothes then?) Anyway, I have some white lace-ups with a sharper toe box that are sleeker and “younger” looking. I’ll feature them soon.

      Thanks for reading,
      Dan

love the increased frequency of the posts on your blog..somethin new n excitin everytime i visit

What happened to the matching shoes and belt policy? Not saying it doesnt work…but still :P

    • Hey Titus. Thanks for reading. With off-white, cream or white shoes, I recommend anchoring down the waistband with a little a color (more often tan, cognac, or brown – but in this case red). And besides, there are no rules!

Sure, we can break the rules but make sure to break it in style.
Even if u don’t wanna match the color of your leather, just keep the color in the family or in the same tone.

For example like what SB did here, brown with cream.
My favorite, brown and beige. It can be black and white when u’re pairing your suit with sneakers. Perhaps if u feel a little outgoing, u can go brown and red, beige and yellow or maybe orange. It’s about creativity.

      It’s just my opinion, though.
For me, brown and gray goes with almost everything.
When I feel in doubt, I just throw the whole thing into my outfit. Haha

Nevertheless, u have to know the rules to break the rules.

      Regards.

CAS–I agree. This is now a purely narcissistic site, rather than a blog with a POV. Sad, really.

    • Jenilee and I have been discussing this. After so many reader requests for more frequent posts and “daily outfit pictures” we decided to start shooting quick “Today” shots a couple times a weeks…it seems like some of the older readers were put-off by this. Thoughts?

      • JMRouse

I like the “Today” posts. They are a great way to get your post count up and give readers style ideas, but I can understand why some readers may miss the lengthy posts. My opinion is to do both and mix it up. Keep the “Today” posts coming, but balance them with the more lengthy ones.

Great blog as always Dan. Glad to see you mixing it up in your comment sections again.

Really there’s no point of complaining- we should all just be thankful for what you want to share… but if you are asking for two cents I agree that switching it up is good but always do what you want!

  • OhCanada

And another pick of myself…look ma, I am a cool canuck!!!!

  • Bryan

While I definitely agree that the detailed style posts are much beetter, I also like these frequent postings that can be used for inspiration. I think a good mix of of these posts plus the detailed ones would be best.

  • CAS

I appreciate the increased frequency in posts, but it seems like you are simply posting ‘fits’ of yourself, rather than giving more detailed style advice that your readers have come to appreciate. I’d rather see you post less frequently and give some kind of detailed commentary than sort of a lookbook-esque or WDYWT post style.

    • Th content-driven posts will continue to be the primary focus of this website. We’re not replacing them with simple “Today” shoots…just using them to increase post frequency. The vast majority of readers seem to enjoy more frequent postings, thus far. Thank you for reading. Best, Dan

Unique shirt I feel works a lot better than those “pop-overs”, great belt colour too
Saw those shoes on the JCrew sale site, if I remember it was a mad deal

  • Adam

Great look! Simple and really nice :)

  • Bryan

Another good post, but you need some new titles lol
