Today. Early morning. Newspaper, coffee and tweed.
The best thing about a three-piece donegal tweed suit is that it gives you 7 different ways to wear it: jacket only, pant only, vest only, jacket + pant, jacket + vest, pant + vest (as shown here), and jacket + pant + vest.
I rarely wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row (in a effort to preserve them all), but ever since I got a new pair of Bass penny loafers (the updated “Dover” model), I’ve been wearing these with everything. Three days in a row now, all with completely different outfits.
Thanks for reading.
Yours in style,
SB

God, that tweed suit looks AMAZING. So much texture and it looks so crisp. WANT. lol
Well put together. The tweed goes well with the blue shirt and the bowtie. Where can you get the Bass Penny Loafers in New York?

We must be careful in opening the door to loafers with a suit. Despite the formality of the vest and bow tie, the loafers are passable here owing to the leisurely tradition of tweed and the sense of hipster irony with which the look has been assembled. Perhaps a boot next time?
Really like this look — Love the mix of texture with the tweed. I also like the bow tie. I’ve found some great bow ties online at http://www.abcneckties.com/bow-ties.html. There are some great deals out there!
Who is the designer of this suit?
nevermind, goes to show I didn’t read. :)
How do I get my hands on that tie??
this guy is the best ever.
nice suit, bad shoes
Hey Dan,
Any experience with Brooks Brothers shirting? They have some sweet deals and I was curious if they were worth looking into.
Thanks!
Love your suit. Always been a fan of Donnegal tweed, but have never found an affordable suit. Any ideas?

I really dig the suit. I’ve always loved Donnegal tweed, and have been fortunate enough to pick up a few pieces made of it. However, I have not been able to find an affordable suit. Anyone know of any options?

Amazing!
I love absolutely everything about this combination.
The socks are crazy. In my eyes one of your best posts yet. It’s cool to see you wearing a bowtie.
I am afraid that I have to agree with Speedmaster, you have many better loafer options, bet hey to each his own right! Your fashion sense is good enough though to doubt it. The suit however is spot on, must be nice having an “in” with bespoke suitmakers!!

Hey Dan,
Always a fan of a tweed outfit specifically this look. I too would have enjoyed a plaid shirt with this but that does not take away from the great execution of this look. The loafers are tight man and as you know very versatile. I will call this look collegiate prep.
Everything is in proportion.
Just nice but if I were you, I would rather go for plaid shirt.
Plus, that loafer is really something and of course with respectable shine.
Btw, I just wanna ask for your opinion: How many buttons would you think are essential for a vest just to be on the safe side?
Good job, as always.
Regards.
Love the look man. But let me tell you something, do you know that sometimes your website doesn’t load up ? It happens a lot to me, I tried loading your website on my laptop and also on my iPad and it gives me an error message. Mind you, I have your mebsite on my favorites, so it is not a matter of typing the wrong web address. Just check it out, cause I like to check your site almost daily.
God bless you.
You may have the old url cached – it used to be a funny url and now it is, finally, just thestyleblogger.com. Anything other than that will bring you to the default error page.
Love everything but the loafers.
Amazing look!
Love that tweed suit :)
