I have the above tan shoe in the boot version. Paid a decent buck for them, but well worth it. They’re already the most comfortable boots I own. Well done, can’t wait until I can purchase my next pair!
please have a go at some vintage J&M shoes. The factory’s goods are no more the great American shoes they used to be, they’ve opted for cheaper leathers and larger lasts to push down prices.
Between the four of us on the TSB team, we probably have a dozen J&M shoes…vintage, made is USA, made in Italy, made in Mexico… They’re all a great value.
I kind of agree with Ville..it seems like a lot of their soles are glued on, even though on the surface it looks like the upper is stitched to the sole..had a pair 3 years ago that came apart 6 months after wearing them. My cobbler showed me it was glued on..he said that it was a common practice with certain shoe makers to give the appearance of the upper being stitched to the sole to make it look like decent quality because of the shoe construction. But really they finish them off with glue. I really prefer to stay in the rapid blake stitched, bologna or Good year welt (best) constructions. Maybe they have changed over the last year or so but if they are still making them the same way then is it really worth the look?
Sometimes I see that the J&Ms are made in the USA, other times, I see that they are made in Italy. Does anyone know why this is? No complaints either way!

Yes, Johnston & Murphy and Allen Edmonds are my favorite footwear. These two brands practically fill my entire shoe closet.
