TSB TV – First Shoot

Yesterday’s TSB Upgrade on Mike Cannon wasn’t just a typical post.

We filmed the entire makeover with a TV production company as the first “sizzler footage” for a potential TSB reality show. An episode of the show would chronicle our work in transforming one guy’s style (and lifestyle), along with the day-to-day hustle of growing a menswear blog into an industry-leading publication.

Here’s a few behind-the-scenes shots that Alex caught during the two-day film shoot.

01

Meeting time: 830am at Mike’s apartment in Brooklyn… very early for our crew.

05

Towni and his spectacular flow getting mic’ed up.

06

The beautiful Jessie was such a great sport during the shoot. Thank you!

07

Our audio expert Chris and one-man camera crew Webster.

Back in the TSB studio…

28

A little liquid encouragement before the one-on-one interviews, thanks to my man Drew Tybus and our friends at Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine. You gotta try these cherries…

I’m calling it now: if this show comes to life, Alex will be one of the best characters on reality TV.

63

That’s a wrap!! Any of that moonshine left?

More on the reality TV show, LA move, and website expansion soon…

Yours in style,

TSBmen

Where are you going to get your suits out West since you get ‘em all from MAB Dan? Just curious. Maybe too early for you to know. Like other commentators, it will be interesting to see how the Western expansion unfolds.

    Can’t wait! Best wishes,

    CDR

  • Richard L.

Its probably his ‘work clothing’ but your camera man, Webster, could use a TSB makeover ;)

Great work as always. Looking forward to the future.

  • Larry

Dan, I am big fan of your blog and your fashion sense. I am a young college who is into fashion and I want to start a fashion blog. Do you have any advice for me?

  • Carter

    Dan,
I knew you and the crew had big plans for the site, but this is next level! Love the suit supply collabs as well. I wish you much success out west.
    Be Well bro!

  • Miguel

This is great guys, this should be must see tv since you guys are mostly going to do guys, usually you get females makeovers and stuff, good luck with this new project.

  • Jaws

Queer eye for the straight guy revisited. Take a step back, makeovers? Shame. #menswearmisguided

Not sure where you’re coming from with the comment, but thanks for reading!

Wow, VERY excited to see the progress. Nice to see the pictures come to life in video.

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

Thanks brother. We’re on the road now…but looking forward to really getting started out West. It’s just the beginning!

  • Bob P

This looks like sooooooo much freakin’ fun. Makes me wish I lived in NYC just to come see some of this go down live. Awesome photos!

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

If all goes well, you won’t have to be! Thanks Bob!

  • Nick

I’m excited! Nothing but the best from you guys. Thanks for the many years of excellence!

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

Thanks Nick! We’re just getting started…

  • James

Great transformation guys!! However, where did the Moonshine come from? That’s from my neck of the woods! I was pleasantly surprised to see a little bit of Tennessee creeping onto the TSB set! I know you’ve done special shoots for some guys in Nashville, but you all should really spend some time here.

    • BF

You can get that shine at most nicer liquor stores…I’ve had the cherry flavor.

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

We’re planning a trip! Well, several trips actually. TSB is going to be hitting the road more often (now that we have wheels)…

Plenty of exciting changes in the near future.

      Thanks for your support!

Thanks for sharing this. Great info

Dan said, – “Wes and I trying our best to fix those long shirt cuffs… unfortunately we didn’t have time to see our boy Franklin to do it right”

*I use an old trick with a couple of rubberbands at the forarm to hold the sleeves up for longer sleeves shirts. I like mine longer than short so it depends on the jacket but this works.

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

That’s a clever quick-fix…but what happens when you take the jacket off?

  • Michael

That Reservoir-Dogs-style last photo is killer

  • Matto

Awesome. What a neat behind-the-scenes article. Thanks for sharing & giving us some insight into the workings behind the curtain.

As the others have said, I’m very much looking forward to the new office and seeing things move forward. You boys are certainly motivated. Full points to you for driving this forward. From style blog, to shop, to TV – I’m excited to see where you’re going to take TSB.

Mike’s last look – blue jacket, tan pants – that exactly hits the spot for me right now.

Let me know if you ever want an international challenge / excuse for a tropical holiday :)

    Cheers,
    Matt – Cairns, Australia

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

Thanks for your support Matt! We’re just getting started my friend – the future is looking bright :)

I hope to make it down to Australia sooner rather than later, you’ll have to show us around…

  • Patrick

You sandbaggin’ sons-a! Congrats, this will be great.

  • chris burt

I would watch, and I hate reality television.

  • Mr E

I hope Townsend’s long locks get their own spin-off reality show.

    They deserve it.

This. Looks. Awesome. Here’s hoping you guys see some success with this venture, I’d definitely watch! Also, tons of great style through these photos…the khaki suit Wes is wearing towards the bottom stood out the most to me though, KILLING it.

  • Brady P

Best of luck gentlemen! I hope it takes off!!

If it doesn’t, we might just shoot it ourselves…that way we can keep it really real and uncut – TSB PRODUCTIONS

  • Dan

Dope. This site continues to get better – interested to see how this bi-coastal thing changes things (styles) up.

    • http://tsbmen.com Dan Trepanier

      Me too Dan, me too.

  • Kolja

    Hi guys,
I just love the shoes Towni wears at SuitSupply. Could you let me know where to get these? I am looking for monks like those for months and can’t find any.
Great shots by the way, looks like hard but fun work.
All the best from Hamburg, Germany,
    Kolja

    • Wieczorek

Try at http://www.meermin.es they have some killer monks (and shoes in general) in nice prices, although sizing chart is a little tricky.

      • Kolja

        Great, thank you Wieczorek!
