TSBmen rule #1: Always bring your ‘A’ game.

Use the comment section below to tell us which is your favorite outfit and why!

1. Dan

Gotta love a place where a cool winter morning calls for a cotton suit and a jersey scarf. LA weather really is unbelievable.

This is what I love about a slim suit. It’s so easy to put together and always looks sharp. Just grab a shirt (any shirt, really) and a pair of shoes (or dress boots) and you’re good to go. With a more casual shirt like this southwestern print I can lose the jacket, untuck the shirt, and have an instant casual outfit – which is important if you’re moving around in LA.

After holding on for Movember, I really came to like the mustache. It’s a kind of throwback gentleman move, I think.

I feel kinda like my dad, in a stand-up guy with character and values kind of way. It’s weird how something as simple as a different facial hair style can cause people to think, feel, and act noticeably differently toward you…

Oliver – blazer fabric quality looks superb and so do the shoes.

  • Robert

Oliver, that buttoned vent blazer doe. Wowzers

    Alex, minus the hat.

  • Alex

Alex by far. That is the best fit I have ever seen on the site to date.

  • Charles E. Fromage

What purpose do the vent buttons serve? I’m asking seriously. I would think that if it’s a jacket worn by only one person, the vent would always be the same unless you’re riding a horse. Anyone?

  • Steven Santander

For sure Alex takes my vote today. Nice layering and great turquoise pieces!

  • Kyle

Easy. Oliver for reasons in addition to he’s the only one that doesn’t look like he’s playing dress up.

I love a good western look but less is more when it comes to the jewelry.

Dan looks like he’s being strangled by the scarf and it’s too much of a ‘look at me I’m one of them’ look with them being the rest of everyone else in LA that’s over styled and just wants to be seen.

  • TO

Wicked that you guys linked up with Domenico Vacca by the way. I have been a fan of his since the days of the original GQ Rules!

  • TO

Dan, because I recently joined the mustache club.

I never thought I could pull it off, having left a stubbly one few times (just to see it) during the shave process.

Realizing I was going to have to shave my beard for work, it came as a lot easier transition after 1-2 month beard growth. I also heeded the “gentlemo” styling tips and now I am really happy with it!

    Alex wins!

  • Jmurd

Going with dan on this one. I like the slim suit and the black boots!

  • Bobby P

Maybe I’m not getting enough exposure, but this site is the only place I ever see men wear soft velvety house slippers. I dig the look, but I’d like to better understand how/why this works off set.

  • Dennis

    Oliver all the way.

  • Chris Piane

What happened to voting??? I guess it’s been a while since I’ve visited. Shame on me. Anyway, I dig all 3.

Dan, I especially dig the ‘stache for now. But I always appreciate experimentation with both hairstyle and facial hair. So keep things interesting!

    Oliver looks simple and elegant.

Alex wins the prize today! He demonstrates how killer accessories, along with slick and classic cowboys boots can take your casual style to a whole other level. Don’t think I’m ready to be sporting that look in NYC just yet, but Alex looks fantastic for his milieu man.

Dan awesome boots!!!! I like the laxness of Alex look and his accessory are amazing so he wins!!! I want to like Oliver’s look just that it seems more fitting for spring/summer than January.

    • Jack

Not cool: making fun of eating disorders.

      • Jack

        *making light

  • Patrick

Oscar takes it. Though working for a high-end men’s store gives him a little leg up on Alex’s dad’s closet. (No disrespect to Alex’s dad).

  • Barkley

Alex wins, easy, he reppin Arizona, he a poser, but still, southwest all day. Turquoise and all that. We dont do prints round here, its gemstones and bandanas famly

  • Jeremy

Dan, your mustache always reminds me of Brad Pitt as Aldo the Apache.

    • AdamE

Agreed, the stache does look like it commands a debt of scalps…

My vote goes to Dan this round…

In terms of the why for buttoned vents, I could see adjusting the depth for certain things like riding a horse or maybe a motorcycle, or on a really hot day, but I suspect, they are more for flair than function (even if they are functional holes…)…

  • Justin

Dan takes the win for today, but it’s nowhere near cold enough in LA right now to even need a scarf in the morning! Unbelievable weather.

    • Justin

Actually, going to change my vote to Oliver, sorry Dan!

  • cam

going with dan today…curious if you could give examples of noticeable ways people treat you differently with the mustache

  • Rob

Alex’s style keeps getting better and better!
I am not a fan of turquoise, excessive jewlery, brimmed hats and especially cowboy boots. Somehow this looks amazing!! well done

  • Miguel G.

I have to go with Alex today, the entire look is solid and complete.

  • http://undefined Joshua

Alex gets the nod here. Denim on Denim will always be badass in my book and the jewelry puts the look over the top. Well done.

  • Kiel West

#3 = Golgo 13 = S.B.W.I.F. = “Sexy Beast with International Flair”. #2 better kegel-clench HARD if he sees Jake Gyllenhaal sneaking up behind him. #1 looks like someone dropped their sunglasses on a Smurf turd.

  • only says inspiring

  • Joe

Alex by a mile. And not just because I love cowboy boots. Well, not just because…

    • Joe

By the way, those are really nice cowboy boots. Do you happen to know who made them?

I wore cowboy boots a lot in NYC, and I almost always noticed I was not the only one. I had a beat-up, rubber-soled pair that was perfect on the snow and ice.

      • http://tsbmen.com Alex Crawford

My dad had them made by a custom boot maker in Houston. I’ll ask him and get back to you!

        • Joe

Cool, I’d like to know. I splurged once on a custom pair made by a guy in the Rio Grande Valley as a graduation gift, my only bespoke item. My other boots are all used, I mean vintage, finds.

This WIWT is one of your better ones for a couple reasons:

    1. My vote goes to Dan for the printed shirt integrated into the suit. That just blends all together too well. Mixed with the boots was unexpected for me. I voted for Dan also because out of the 3 looks, I would have def worn this one.

    2. Alex has really stepped up his game this time with the turquoise jewelry. I, too, would have never thought he would wear that AND cowboy boots AND pull it off so nicely. VERY well done!

    3. I really dig Oliver’s look, and what an unexpected twist with the button vents. Such a laid back/casual look.

    4. Dan you got a new style haircut yes?

    5. I didn’t see a teaser pic for WIWT on the homepage? Was that because you wanted to keep things interesting? I like it this way for dramatic effect lol.

    Nice post guys!

  • http://undefined Shane

Hands down Oliver!Great look! Just can’t get behind that hat Alex – sorry!

  • Shawn

I gotta say Mr Gerona look is pretty sharp! Never thought of buttons to adjust the vent opening! Pretty clever! And I love the gingham color of his jacket! Well done!
