1 Piece/3 Ways: The Barbour Jacket feat. Towni

Dressy, but not TOO dressy. A slim-cut Barbour can toe the line with this sharp casual outfit.

It’s all about high/low on this one…  The button down shirt, tie and sweater are all dressier elements, but they’re made from more casual fabrics. Chambray (shirt) and hopsack (tie) are about as relaxed as they come.

If you don’t have a pair of LL Bean duck boots in your wardrobe already, I suggest you reconsider your life choices. This waxed canvas pair is perfect Fall through Spring, and is essential in maintaining dry (and warm) feet.

Dude, what’s with the boots? I know you’re from a rich family, but do you have to always look like you’re out hunting quail?

  • Jose Marcial

That first post of yours is still one of my favorites on this site.

  • Rachel Bell

These are all great looks. Really digging the fit of the denim in the second look.

  • andrew

I have this jacket and love it to death and actually have been shopping for a crushable wool hat to keep the weather off. But which Bailey hat is that?

  • chuckdaly

It says a lot about a jacket when over 6 photos are taken of it, and none show it even minimally zipped. Maybe if I were on a vacation in Scotland or Ireland. Otherwise, I’ll take pass.

    • Andrew

Actually the Jacket zipped is great. The interior is quilted and extremely warm. Plus it has drawstrings that allow you to have a more fitted silhouette. It is the best jacket I have ever owned.

    Bean boots with a tie?

    I prefer Old Towni.

  • nic

Brooklyn jump the shark a long time ago. Glad “your” looks are exact same thing as what everyone else wears in BK.

    • Daniel

Brooklyn is actually pretty diverse. I’ve never seen a Hasid wear a Barbour jacket.

      • nic

Brooklyn is very diverse, to bad you or this guy never make it south of Broadway. Go pound sand, sir.

  • John B

Waxed jackets are amazing! I recently got one and I’m wearing it all the time. Welcome back by the way! The pictures of the flat should have been on their own post, it’s that good!

  • Dave Coakley

What I like about this is you’re well dressed but it’s also practical. Plenty of pockets for your wallet, keys, glasses, etc.

….and stylish, while remaining practical for the weather.

  • Brent

Towni where did you get the replica flag?

  • Stuart

Fire. All of three of these looks were incredible. Good to have you back Towni.

  • Kyle Leon Norville

    Awesome Jacket and post!!!!

I definitely agree. The LL Bean Signature’s are the best purchase I have made in a while.

    BUT…

I am trying to figure out how to clean the lower section of these Boots, as mine has gotten a bit scuffed up through the continuous wearing of them.

    Any suggestions?

    • Travis

Use the same stuff you’d use to shine up your car tires!

My man Towni ! Very dope post. Got me thinking about hitting a Barbour myself now

  • Daniel

Brooklyn Casual looks like you’re about to work on a farm! But I suppose anything goes in BK

  • benny

    such a cool room

  • Jay v.

You sir are winning! Towni, nice to see you back bro! Towni you pull off the Brooklyn aesthetic. Not sure if it really meshes with my style but I can appreciate it. That suit in the final post is just so on point. From the fit to the pattern and details.

  • Jeanscuffed

I was never a fan of rubber boots or duck boots BUT for some reason Towni’s outfits just make me want a pair. Living in Texas I probably won’t use them alot but I just think with my aesthetic I wouldn’t look good in them. I dig Towni’s fits but for some reason I’m more interested in the way his space is set up. Real intriguing setup. Great post, glad to see he’s “back”.

  • khordkutta

    3 words: AWESOME. WET. BAR.

  • TT

Ah, the old rich kid pretending to rough it aesthetic. Classic New York.

  • Mitko

Half empty bottles of Bourbon and a type writer…all you need to do is write standing up and move to Key West. Love it.

  • E

Love those Just a Men shoes, but I don’t see the dbl monks on their site. Am I missing them?

  • http://whentowear.tumblr.com/ WhenToWear

Far cry from what you used to wear, but it’s working for you!

  • JoeFromTexas

Wow, the content is coming hot and heavy, I’m still trying to keep up. Great stuff guys.

First off, I just want to say that I’m glad to see Townie alive and well. I was this close to calling TSB headquarters and going Liam Neeson on whoever picked up.

Great looks all around. I don’t know that I’d ever wear those Bean boots or rubber boots unless I was out all day hunting ducks or geese, but they don’t look bad.

  • Ben

The latest trend in Brooklyn is wearing sweaters that say “Brooklyn” on them

  • Richard L.

Judging by previous comments in the last post, people seem to hate the baseball cap.

I on the other hand, LOVE IT. I’m all about New Era’s 59Fifty’s, but the Ebbets Field Flannels Towni’s always rocking give a casual yet not so teenager-esque look.

Great feature and great to see you back!

  • cam

“If you don’t have a pair of LL Bean duck boots in your wardrobe already, I suggest you reconsider your life choices” – I love this towni and couldn’t agree more…my bean boots rarely come off my feet during the autumn/winter weekends…I watched your interview video again…where is that guy lol!!

    • Paul Kim

Could anyone recommend how to get your LL Bean Waxed Canvas shoes on? I have a hard time getting my feet into them when the winter gets cold. That’s why I hardly wear them but I really like them a lot. I have the same LL Bean Signature boots but have trouble getting them on. Thanks!

    • Bob

I owned a pair of those waxed canvas Maine Hunting Boots, but even after I sized down one and a half sizes, my foot was still floating around in them. Returned them and haven’t regretted it. They’re too much boot for a place like Austin, TX.

  • marcel

    Rugged but smoothed. Welcome back!

  • Rob

Killin it Towni! I’ve always been super uncomfortable wearing any other heavy outerwear other than the pea-coat. Nice post showing how to rock a super classy jacket I would not have immediately gone for.

  • Nicolas

    Look n2 is great!
And i see that someone loves scotch whisky… good for you ;) Slainte! (Cheers in gaelic)

  • kfung

Welcome back Towni! Always loved the Barbour’s versatility and practicality. I’ve got a battered 5 year old navy Beaufort which looks better with age and has developed its own character.

Been inspired by look no.1 to wear my sweatshirt (navy Champion) more as a sweater over a shirt rather than with my gym clothes.

Keep up the excellent work, guys!!
