2. Dan

Speaking of 1970s, we hit a vintage wholesale warehouse yesterday and picked up all kinds of goodies – including this burnt orange microsuede jacket with a belted midsection, waist pockets, and funky oversized collar.

The sleeves are a little short (as is often the case with Vintage, since we usually buy a size down to fit the body) but I wear this type of slim-fit jacket as a casual alternative to a blazer (great for the West Coast) so I like showing my typical 3/4″+ of shirt cuff.

Everything in this look was bought vintage or second-hand, except for the shirt. These old ripped up & stained Levis have been my go-to jean lately… More on that later.

  • Brown felt hat by Stetson (Vintage)
  • Orange micro-suede jacket Vintage
  • Pale brown plaid shirt by Michael Andrews Bespoke
  • Olive/brown tie Vintage from my late grandfather
  • Slim brown leather belt Vintage
  • Vintage Light Wash Jeans by Levi’s
  • Brown Wingtips by Florsheim

    Towni is back.

  • Al Bizzy

Gotta hand it to Dan. I can always appreciate the effort to introduce something different. Micro suede? dope.

  • Dave P

It’s Dan for me. I saw the photo and loved it, and ended up thinking about it again this morning (not in a weird way). I think it is the effortless way that Dan wears the hat, and the colour combination that does it for me. Excellent work.

Does Wes’ look come with a hidden switchblade? Because if it does, I’m voting for it. #edge

  • Jakob

    Wes, So simple, so good.

  • Changingman

I see a lot of comments on Dan’s jeans and dad jeans in general. Growing up in the 80′s and 90′s that shade and color was the norm. I was heavy into the punk and metal scenes , and thats all you saw. Nobody wore dark wash back then. Tight , faded, levis 501, band tshirt and leather jacket. Thats what us cool kids wore ;) i actually hated dark wash jeans and couldnt wait for them to fade.
Of course now , all I wear is dark wash 511′s and I like them. The color feels natural on me. They match with any button up I wear. Funny how that happens.

    • Daniel

I like that this came from someone with the moniker “Changingman”

  • Changingman

I voted for Alex because he always has the best wool shackets.

  • LouCaves

    Alex. That’s it. I’m done.

    Thanks, TSB.

  • Ian

Gotta go with Dan. That jacket is way cool!

  • http://www.TSBmen.com/ Dan Trepanier

    hahaha that’s cold.

  • mligon

Overall, I vote for Dan. I’m not much a hat guy though. As to the jeans, I like ‘em and the fit is decent but that stain (what is it, blood?) continues to bug me.

Ps. Townie, I hope you are a bike helmet wearer.

    • http://www.TSBmen.com/ Dan Trepanier

Looks more like rust to me, I think.

Towni’s flow is way to good to hide behind a helmet :)

      • Kyle

And Dan’s second sentence there may be the dumbest thing ever stated on here.

  • Jeanscuffed

I think Towni took this one for me. His aesthetics were spot on and color combo were at a minimum but it was the way they blended together. I also like the way his shoes age so beautifully. Plus, like he said, the bike is a nice accessory lol (even though we’re judging outfits here).

Alex’s link to his work made me respect his photography SO much more. I looked through the gallery and was blown away. Great work you do Alex!

      Thanks so much!

    • Miguel

      Those are the Dad’s jeans.

  • ft_tony

West side wins today!!! Both looks had the low key dapper style…. And Antlier is a really good look

      • Jorge B.

I’m really digging it, I’ll have to get that gold deer skull ASAP. Great work Alex!

  • Miguel

Had to go with Alex today, a nice mix of clothing and materials.

  • PG Roadhouse

“What coast your on” should be you’re. If you guys need/want a copy editor I do good work. Not an attempt at snark, just throwing it out there.

Everyone’s solid this week but Towni kills it with the full on bespoke. I also dig Alex’s cattle baron aesthetic, it’s a bit closer to my own.

    • http://www.TSBmen.com/ Dan Trepanier

      Fixed. Good catch.

  • Juan

To me it’s a no contest this time around, Dan’s color palette takes the crown. Loving the orange jacket (thinking of getting a waterproofed one for the upcoming April showers), great find!

Also loving the jeans, first time I see someone wearing 501s on their actual waist line (even on Levi’s website the model wear them 3 inches below their belly button, which is ridiculous), and they look awesome. And was that hat also thrifted? As I said, no contest!

Also, Alex, I just wanted to say I checked out your website and wow, amazing stuff, brother! Plus, not a lot of men have the cojones to go hunt puma in my birthland. I’ve taken my dogos to hunt plenty of wild boar as a kid but never puma, I’m impressed man!

    • http://tsbmen.com/ Alex Crawford

      Haha, thanks Juan.

    • http://www.TSBmen.com/ Dan Trepanier

Thanks brother. We have a piece coming up later this Spring on color rain coats too. And yes to the hat being thrifted.

      Alex kills EVERYTHING.

  • John B

Dan looks cool, but I have to go with Towni

  • TO

Dan ftw- one of the coolest ‘windbreakers’ I’ve seen. Everybody has a unique flavor today, Towni really nails the classic look for ex.

  • Daniel

How is Wes not winning this?

    • cam

Bc Towni entered the race today

      • http://www.TSBmen.com/ Dan Trepanier

        Towni always gets the #groupielove

        • cam

Was I just called a groupie?

    • http://www.tsbmen.com/ Westley Dimagiba

bc Towni is bespoke out and that photo I took of him is MONEY

      • http://tsbmen.com/ Alex Crawford

        Yes it is.

      • Sabir M. Peele

        Voted for you homie!!!

          good looks!

      • http://www.TSBmen.com/ Dan Trepanier

All about the photo quality. Nice job Wes.

  • AFH

Alex for the win here. The wool shacket is tasty and the outfit perfectly put together.

    Pedantic critique:

Towni – the jumbo peak lapels to me just don’t work with the outfit, not feeling the shirt collar either.

Dan – not much wrong here really. That being said, I’m not much feeling the Dad jeans trend – it feels like fashion and not style to me. A pair of washed jeans for spring/autumn is one thing, but this is just too close to affectation for my personal taste. I dig the jacket though – Zara had something similar last Summer and I almost bought it in sale but the quality wasn’t quite there. Wear that in October with selvedge and I’ll vote for you.

Wes – Not much wrong here either, but he’s demonstrating a very solid ‘B’ game – which is completely fine by me in a real world context, but perhaps not truly in the spirit of things.

  • Ali Naaseh

    Wes, are those jeans 484?
