2. Business Casual

The perfect complement to finish-off a simple shirt and tie look.

This marled sweater, which has a tweed-like texture, works great with classic menswear fabrics like denim and chino.

Another awesome blog my friend! You killed it again on this one! Your site has given me a whole new outlook on how every man should dress and the importance of investing in quality and picking out clothes that fits “right”… Thanks again Dan… Your a huge inspiration ! Keep them posts coming!

@SB I noticed your denim jacket in this shoot has that almost permanent crease across the front of the fabric from when the jacket was stored folded from the warehouse. And you definitely don’t want to wash that jacket so what’s the cure? Here’s a Bonus Tip for your readers – a spritz of Febreze relaxes the fibers and the fold will just fall out. Better than an iron 9 times out of 10.

    • http://www.thestyleblogger.com SB

Yea, it’s brand new. The creases will get worked out with wear. Ironing it is an easy solution for the short term.

      Thanks for reading,
      Dan

@SB did you have you denim jacket tailored? I own the same jacket, and have been contemplating having it altered. Thoughts?

    • http://www.thestyleblogger.com SB

Nope, I didn’t need to. It can’t be let out, but you could certainly have it taken-in.

      Best,
      Dan

I like all the looks. The second is my favorite for sure though. I have always liked the trucker jacket with tie thing. It’s something that I actually wore today. I don’t think I would normally like that down vest, but it works with everything else in that outfit.

  • Ambyr

Your Weekend Business look is my favorite. I do like how you managed to mix in different prints and colors with your heathered sweater throughout each look. Very dapper.

    Damn..you’re a hottie!

  • Charles

    all three are solid.

  • Oli

Have you had that Levis jacket altered at all? Pretty sure I bought the exact same model recently, and it has slightly big armholes/sleeves

  • Dom

First look is great, others: eh.

The idea is there, but it doesn’t quite connect and blow my mind like some other posts. Never stop though.

  • Suzanne

The first look is really wonderful with all the textures and patterns. My fav. The sports jacket is lovely.

Dan, Bass has discontinued that `Dover`penny loafer line. Know some place you can still find them?

    • Alan Gurkin

Not discontinued entirely. If you go to bassshoes.com, and type in Dover in the search box, you can still find them. They’re on backorder, and won’t ship till May, but that’s the perfect time to start wearing them anyway.

  • Daniel

Totally disagree with Joe. What a douche. Do you Dan…you know he’s reading daily

  • Joe

Sorry SB, this look just doesn’t work. Gives off that “trying too hard” thing with too many themes in each outfit. I just don’t look at it and think, “that dude looks cool.”

    • Jim

Hey “Joe” I would have to say I disagree with you. I think Dan pulls off the looks perfectly. Just because you don’t have any taste, you shouldn’t be so judgmental.

    • HarrisonK

How does this not work? A v-neck sweater is perhaps the most versatile piece a man can own. As Dan pointed out, I works perfectly fine with everything.

    • MIKE

I see what Joe means an this not is not one of the better posts but Dan stated that the his purpose with the is not to present your standard men’s stylings and it was more about experimentation and presenting new fresh looks and ideas that deviate from the standard fashion that appeals to the simple masses (Joe).

As with all experiments, something is going to go wrong every now and then (when dan rocked his girlfriends hat). Regardless he kills it 9 times out of 10 and this is still the best blog out there. Now only ifhe would hurry up with those video episodes …

    • Justin K

Yeah, I totally disagree. If anything, these looks are the opposite of “trying too hard”–they’re conservative, easy-to-pull-off looks. I wore similar variations of two of these last week! (Been wearing LOTS of sweaters lately, too.) Very cool options for anyone because nearly all of us have these pieces in our closets. I’ve got that Levi’s jacket coming in the mail this week! Woot!

  • Maurice

    I really like look #2

  • HarrisonK

Great post as always. I really like the second look with the dark denim jacket and the chinos. Did you tailor the denim jacket?

  • Ángel

    perfectly!
