2. Simple Bomber & Shades, ala James Dean

A simple recipe for looking suave from the king of laid-back cool: straight leg jeans, white tee, classic shades, fitted bomber jacket.
If the jacket is bold, like this one, allow it to make the statement by keeping the rest of the look neutral and classic.
There are some great resources online that offer a well-edited selection of vintage products from the comfort of your living room. For example, I picked up this rare Pendleton bomber (as well as the belted cardigan in look 5) from the keen-eyed buyers at Tidwell & Perryman Collection.
When searching for new vintage stores keep in mind that quality is more important than quantity. It’s a much better experience to choose from a well-curated selection of limited-edition pieces rather than scouring through racks and racks of old crap looking for a “diamond in the rough”.

- Red vintage wool bomber jacket by Pendleton (tailored) via Tidwell & Perryman Collection
- White cotton tee by Rich in Clothing
- Washed jeans by Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply
- Aviator sunglasses by Christian Dior Vintage from Noel Vintage
- Black leather loafers by Bass
- Watch by Montblanc Timewalker Automatic (42mm)

Is the duffel from Filson?
Hey, where did you get the vintage camo jacket from?
I love everything about this post. The mens fashion here is classic and really showing that men have style
Makes me want to break out of the comfort zone and see if I can rock camo. Time for a trip to the vintage army/navy shop.

Great pieces, really good stuff… I was wondering if you can make a post soon with shorts? It’s 78+ in Chicago and I wanted to get some ideas. THANK YOU

Awesome! Very inspiring with the vintage.
Definitely true on items telling you a story – I picked up two Lanvin ties at my local Salvation Army store for $1 each! 80′s retro have never looked better.
GREAT post. I actually don’t mind the ‘diamond in the rough’ approach myself usually, it can be even more rewarding in the end- but I’ve never found pieces like these either. What’s a raglan sleeve?
Raglan sleeves connect all the way to the neck (versus ending right at the shoulder). Definitely a pro in vintage finds, cause you can get away with a bit sloppier shoulder fitment and as SB mentioned, easier tailoring.
this is next level stuff
Every single look here is absolutely flawless. By far one of my favorite posts. The vintage trench coat from the first look has a presence of a classic Rolls Royce. The velvet Del Toro slippers are a nice touch aswell.

This site just keeps getting better and better!
Both of your Camo Fatigue looks are amazing. Something about military prints on a casual jacket have so much sex appeal. Love your 2 totally different styling looks.

I love the bomber from the 2nd outfit…
If you think one day to giweaway it, hope to be the first on the list!
:D
Great outfits, very inpiring!
Maybe 1/200 men will have the wardrobe and sartorial know-how to be able to effectively make a pair of light, faded, stonewashed jeans look stylish. The others will look like an extra on Seinfeld. This is a dangerous game you play, styleblogger.
Keep in mind this site is 1 part instructional, 1 part inspirational.
As in any area of life, you have to pick and choose which advice works best for you personally.
Thanks for reading brother,
Dan
Also, I think what Dan does well—unilaterally—is focus on a high/low type dynamic with an emphasis on fit. Well-fitted stonewashed jeans with a bespoke jacket and simple white broadcloth shirt looks way more Rome and way less UWS Seinfeld. Just a thought. Don’t think it’s as hard to pull off as you do.
Huge huge fan, first time posting. Love the site!
The J’s in look 4a are Air Jordan Vs.
Please keep up the great work.

You’re right. Sorry for the typo, fixed.
Thanks,
Dan
From just returning from a vintage run, I totally get what you’re saying. These pieces are timeless and add character to any outfit you just can’t get with new things. I’m just shocked that those light blue jeans!! I’ll be glad to buy when you sell…
There is a good chance some of these pieces, along with others featured on the site, will find their way into the SB vintage shop…coming soon…
Best,
Dan
